The Eckhardt Update – Holiday Edition

At a Glace: Holy Holidays! I don’t know about you, but for us this season tends to roll into one long, holly-jolly blur that has you coming off of a three month long sugar rush back to reality. Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years have taken their toll on our wallet and our waistline, and now the long grind of the remaining winter months kicks in. That being said, we had a wonderful holiday season with family and friends and are very thankful we were able to share a the special time of year with those we love! This winter has been a busy for West as usual. BSS has been growing and along with it, so has his role within the company. Our time together is shorter these days, but that much more meaningful when we do get to spend time together. For my part, I am continuing on with CCD as a dental assistant and am blessed to have very generous employers who have cultivated an excellent work environment and who go above and beyond to appreciate their employees! My work family is a close second to my blood family and I couldn’t ask for better bosses!

Q: What Was Your Favorite Thing That Happened This Season?

Brooke: We have started having a weekly game night with some friends that I look forward to each week! Right now we are in the middle an awesome D&D campaign. I’m loving having something to prep for and do in the evenings other than watching Netflix or scrolling through our phones while we couch potato.

West: We got to have the family up a few times around the holiday, which was tons of fun. Brooke and I also had a great adventure getting our Christmas tree, which ended up being quite the fun afternoon. Also, I was able to get a Spire pass this year and have been climbing on a regular basis! Summer sport trips here I come!

Q: What Are You Thankful For?

Brooke: I am so thankful for the incredibly generous heart of my boss. She had heard that I had been invited by my family to join them in Disneyland later on this month, but that because it was so short notice, I didn’t think I would be able to save up enough to meet up with them. Well, she went out of her way to get me the time off of work and to gift me a ticket so that I could go spend five wonderful days with my family to make memories! I am completely blown away by the kindness of her and the rest of the CCD family to help make that happen! I am blessed and so thankful that I have the privilege of working with people who are so thoughtful and selfless!

West:  I am thankful that I got to be home all day for Christmas for the first time in 6 years! We had a very snowy December (3x our average), and I was worried that the trend would carry on through. Instead, we got a glorious break in the weather and were able to celebrate like normal people.

Q: What Are You Looking Forward To?

Brooke: I’m looking forward to the future. I’m always looking for the next proverbial hill to climb; and while we are seemingly living the “American Dream” and have “arrived”, I know that there are other adventures around the corner that will both challenge us and give us opportunities to experience more in life! I cannot wait to see what form those adventures take in the months ahead!

West: February normally brings a few warm weeks, which would be greatly appreciated! We are in the process of building out the inside of our new shop, and if we could get a few days off we could have it done. Hopefully the next few weeks have that in the cards for us.
